We consider ourselves Master of Quality Control in producing mini gas cylinders. Consistent quality and product safety are the two essential elements that NTG regards as paramount in the process of mini gas cylinder production. The high standard quality of NTG products is substantiated by various ISO and UL certificates.
To maintain the quality and safety of our products, NTG regularly conducts quality control inspections in accordance with ISO, UL, US-MIL standards, and KHK (The High Pressure Gas Safety Institute of Japan) standards. These checks include tensile strength, burst pressure, leakage, corrosiveness, filling density, weight, and more. Only products that pass these standard tests are put on the market.
Steel and gases are the two main materials of our products. The steel NTG purchases is a high-grade steel that automakers use to make their cars. The carbon dioxide NTG purchases is Japanese Food Grade. We procure these materials from reliable domestic suppliers who are carefully selected based on several factors. The domestic sourcing allows us better control over procurement materials.
When it comes to product safety, NTG cannot neglect the washing process of the cylinders. The cleaning process, including washing and drying, is controlled by the QC Process Flow Chart which is made based on the ISO 9001 management system. The process is validated not only by daily inspections during the manufacturing process but also by periodic inspections at third-party laboratories.
NTG always attaches great importance to safety measures when designing products. Some of the NTG cylinders are made with a Safety Sealing Cap or a Double Safety Sealing Cap. These Safety Caps are capable of withstanding emergency situations such as substantially high temperature.
One major risk for any gas cylinder is overheating, which can cause the cylinder to burst or skyrocket. NTG’s Safety Sealing Caps are the most effective preventive measure for this type of risk.
As the pressure in the gas cylinder increases with heat – if the cylinder is accidentally thrown into an incinerator or kept in a high temperature environment of more than 80℃ – the Safety Sealing Cap will automatically activate once the activation pressure is reached. When the internal pressure rises to a certain point, a micro-slit will develop on the lid of the cylinder. From this vital slit, the gas will be released slowly. This prevents the cylinder from rocketing, which is caused by an instant release of gas. In addition, the cylinder will not burst, as the gas will be released before the cylinder accumulates enough pressure.
This video shows how the safety feature works when cylinders with and without a Safety Sealing Cap are thrown into a fire.
If you would like to consider using NTG cylinders with the safety feature, please contact us.
Our production processes are constantly being improved thanks to the high motivation of our employees. The high standard quality of the NTG products is substantiated by various international certificates such as ISO and UL.
UL 1191 – Standard for Components for Personal Flotation Devices
・TPED ADR/RID (PI Mark a.o.)
・REACH
・EN3-7 and EN3-8 – for Portable Fire Extinguishers
・E290 Carbon dioxide
NTG cylinders DO NOT include chemical substances restricted under REACH. Upon request, NTG can make regulators in accordance with RoHS.
At NTG’s Tsuga factory, we consistently produce high quality mini gas cylinders using the engineering and manufacturing expertise we have accumulated since the company was founded in 1917. The expertise includes the technologies that enable precise deep drawing, accurate high-speed gas filling, and high-precision welding. Each production process is based on the production manual called QC Flow Process Chart, which is strictly controlled by our QC Department under ISO9001. We provide consistent quality by flexibly meeting diversified needs from customers in various fields.
NTG produces several types of sealing caps - the lids of the cylinders - at the Tsuga factory. Which sealing cap is required depends on the industry in which the gas cylinder is used. Safety Sealing Caps are necessary for cylinders used with general consumer products. On the other hand, Low Puncture Force Caps are required for the lifejacket application where the puncture force is determined by the standards. In order to meet requirements from various industries and applications, the dimensions and thickness of sealing caps are strictly controlled by our QC Department.
In order to meet customers’ needs on private labeling and printing, NTG has installed shrink wrapping and inkjet printing machines. Shrink wrapping is particularly popular for customers in the areas of food, beverage, beauty care, and lifejackets, whereas customers concerned with air guns and pepper balls like to have warning statements over the gas cylinder body.
Based on long-term manufacturing expertise in gas handling equipment, the NTG regulators are assembled and tested one-by-one by trained production workers at the production facility in NTG’s Tsuga factory.
To supply our customers timely on request, NTG Europe has constant goods receipt from Japan and most standard items are kept in stock at our warehouse in Germany. We prepare shipments by following the transportation rules, ADR/RID*, IMDG**, and IATA*** according to the customer location.
The products will be dispatched on pallets or in cartons separately.
MOQ to be checked with NTG Europe.
Additionally, we can offer direct shipments from Japan to Europe on a FCA Japan basis or a CIP “European port” basis upon request.
NTG gas cylinders are classified as dangerous goods or hazardous cargo both in air and ocean transportation.
Due to the DG classification, regardless of the volume of cargo, the gas cylinders in almost every case need to be transported by FCL
* ADR/RID for the international transportation of dangerous goods via truck and train
** IMDG for the international transportation of dangerous goods via ship
*** IATA for the international transportation of dangerous goods via air
